Ethical Technology
Technology develops and evolves at an almost exponential pace. Computers, the internet, and telecommunications, with their advancements, have freed and empowered us as a society. With these expansions and developments comes the potential for good as well as for harm. For every ethical use of technology, there's an improper use; for every developer, there's a hacker. These freedoms should be protected from attack and defended from misuse.
There is a need for a set of rules and standards that protect technology, information, and the users.
The Society of Information Systems Security Professionals is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of the ethical use of technology in everyday life. We achieve this through:
- Standards of Conduct for Technology Users.
- Website Security Consultations.
- Recognition of those Businesses and Individuals that Use Technology Ethically.
As long as there is technology, there are those individuals that will attempt to abuse it. We work to ensure that the technology remains secure and the users are safe.
